Found this among the tools in my Granddads Old Snap-On Boxes

Until I did the Google-Foo I thought it was another one of his "Field Modified Wrenches" and he had cut the opening.

Learned a new word, Boxocket! This dates from the early 30's which is when PopPop was first a fulltime mechanic, so he could have bought it new.

Here's a bin of them with a 20483 tool# for the W-670 Continental Radial Aircraft engine used in a variety of applications during WW2.

I never thought of the 20483 as an aircraft tool, thanks for the info. do you know what else is in the box, I still am looking for a few sizes.

I do like to collect Aircraft tools but mostly related to BP and Snap on.
Here is a Wright 80118 Patent Blue Point Tool Co. valve spring compressor for the Whirlwind Motor,

Hi. Sorry, I'm almost positive everything in that box is the same exact wrench, like there's a bin of all Plomb wf 3/8" drive t- breakers too and other not so rare stuff. They're in an Ohio antique mall on 70 I stopped at to stretch my legs on the way to Pittsburgh, not too far from Wright Patterson so I'm assuming it's just Army Air Corps contract stuff that's still bubbling to the surface.

The Continental W-670 valve spring compressor is very similar to the Wright 20483. It is smaller, and doesn't have the lugs on the compressor foot. Certainly the same patent.
