BluePoint = Taiwan?

Is all the Bluepoint stuff from Taiwan? I guess im just behind the curve.

I didn't know the Bluepoint stuff was made out of the country.

Not everything most sockets,ratchets,wrenches are but their oil filter wrenches are usa if im notmistaken along with other stuff.

Not all the Blue point stuff is overseas, some is made here and rebranded from Lisle and other cpompanies for example. "Blue-point" is, for the most part, the tool line Snap-on does not make and is rebranded. (IE; they slap Blue-point on it and call it their own)

The socket's and wrenches and such are Taiwan make and pretty decent from what I gather, but you can get Taiwanese made tool's cheaper from other places I'm sure. The imported William's tool's are the same one's as the Blue-point.

A lot of Taiwan stuff is very nice. I have a set of BluePoint locking extensions and the packaging said Taiwan. A very nice set.

most of BP is taiwan made, quite a few of the specialty tools are made in the usa tho

Harbor freight pro impact sockets= blue point quality for 1/8 the cost. I suppose I would charge 8 times more if I drove to your house in an enormous diesel powered truck.

I think a most of it is still made here.. Some of it is from Taiwan though. The website says the COO for each item.

Not sure who the original manufacturer is, but the BP Angle Drill Kit and hose clamp pliers are USA COO, and a great deal at msrp.

Blue-point hammers are still made in USA, and I've seen some pliers made in France (looked similar to Knipex Cobras).

Very true, it can also work the other way as well, meaning B-P may a have better warranty on a particular item then the OEM.

Either way, it pay's to research what your'e going to buy.

I have some newer BP sockets (Taiwan) and look to have slightly better quality than my recent Armstrong (USA) sockets. I also have a few other USA BP tools and they all seem like very good quality tools.

BP's are priced pretty fair and work well for both the DIY and pro's. Every BP tool I have touched looks to have good quality, regardless of the COO.

Blue point is tools that snap on sells that are not made by snap on, rebranded tools. Regardless of where they are made. Lots of the blue point specialty tools are made in the USA, most of the main line sockets and wrenches are made elsewhere. Blue point is a brand snap on carries that they can sell cheaper than their snap on line that they manufacture in house. Since lots of guys can't afford to buy everything snap on, blue point is a decent alternative. The driver still comes to your shop and sells you decent tools at a fair price and the real selling point is blue point carries the same warranty as snap on tools, lifetime with almost no questions asked.

I was under the assumption blue point stuff didn't have the lifetime warranty. I don't own much besides a few specialty tools but good to know they are covered. Considering the money I've spent on snappy stuff, my dealer will warranty just about anything anyways.
