Can I use blueprints from another state to build my garage? How would I go about having them changed,or adapted to work in this state? I AM SURE SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE,APPROVED/STAMPED.ECT.....
I had a 30x30 garage in NY,L.I. To be exact. Now that I am in NC I want to build the same garage.I want to try an avoid another 800.00 bill for a set of plans.
Do I go to an architect, builder?

Check with your permitting office, they are the one who will issue a permit to build with those plans and note if they are no up to their code. Here I had to submit plans with the permit application and they came backed marked up with the items for the onsite inspector to check for and a stamp of approval.

My town inspector wanted a drawing of the foundation ( I used that CD designs website) and a copy of the engineered truss drawing (supplied no charge w/ the price quote) showing my name on it.

I had a plot plan from when we re-financed a few years back and that was acceptable.

Very easy I thought.
