Blueprints, we don't need no stinking blueprints.
Honestly, that is a big stick built building, if I did it, it'd be 2x6 walls 12" O.C.

a local engineer should be able to sell you a set cheap enough. should make getting a permit easier.

61, that would all depend on what your building; inter walls, doors, windows, etc....
Lay your sill plate down next to your first top plate and lay them out togeather. What ever center you use, 24, 16, 12, is just that, the center of the stud so take off or add 3/4"- 1 1/2 in half is 3/4. On two of your walls you will have to burn 3 1/2" +3/4" bucause they will be inside of the first two walls.

anyone know where i can find blueprints for a 40 x 60 x 12 stud frame garage?
Just about anyplace will sell you the prints but to just find a set for almost nothing probably won't happen. If you look through some of the building magazines and books, or at different internet sites for garages, they have plans that they will sell. Just use any search engine and plug in "garage plans" or plug in "Pole Barn Plans" Here is one right off the get go. http://www.thegarageplanshop.com/71/1/garage-plans/outbuilding-plans.php

61ford I did just that and it was all 2"6" I Have home plans that were not stamped but accepted by local permit/inspection office. Truss design came from my supplier and was the more critical issue on the permit. let me know and I can send you out the PDF's or if you have CAD I can do DWG format
