Does it surprise any of you that there are no small building blueprints on the internet? I have enough structural iron laying around to build a 25 x 40 building. I thought I would be able to find dozens of blueprints on the web. Nope! I would love to be able to compare blueprints for an identical building going up in several different states and see what changes are made to the structure when you change snow load or wind load etc.The only calculators I can find show you the price change! I would buy a kit and build that if I had any faith in the people selling them but the more I talk to these people the less faith I have.

Too many factors in a design to make a true comparison. Design for a steel building are intellectual property, need to be sealed by a structural engineer in almost all cases, so I wouldn't expect they'd be keen to publish them. Liability there too.

If you are going to build with structural steel, you need an engineer to do the design. There are too many factors (not to mention the different properties of the different rolled shapes) involved to create a simple calculator.
