I'm in the process of building a new stand for a small-ish metal lathe, top is 22x58 inches. Anyone ever cold blue that large of a steel plate? Does it work? I've always just sprayed something like wd40 to wipe off my metal bench tops but since this is going to have a permanent piece of equipment on top it will be harder to wipe fully and wanted something a bit more durable/permanent. Good idea? I've never blued anything before.
Also, any ideas on how much cold blue would be needed for that much surface area?
