Made a my interpretation of a Project Center this weekend. You will notice my affinity for DeWalt tools for woodworking.

Lots of different features built in and designed to be ready to access and start work immediately. The main reason I built this was I had a lot of great tools in the shop but setup and teardown was always burdensome. This way the actual access to tools is always at hand for long term projects or short term spur of the moment projects.

Highlights:

Table Saw, Miter Saw, Router Station, Planer, Onboard Dust collection system, onboard air compressor, kreg track system with pocket hole workpiece.

Current issues: needs better casters, harbor freight was a poor choice on my part. I ordered a set rated to 3600lb should be here Wednesday.

Future additions: Fold out / hinged outfeed and side supports for table saw.

Kreg production track system for miter saw.

“Weekend” Project I Started from scratch around 6PM Friday, got to this point by 1AM Monday.

A picture from this in another thread brought me here. I've been looking for ideas to build something very similar and yours is the closest I've seen to the idea in my head.
Few questions-
What are the hinges used on folding table?
(I bought some folding locking hinges from Amazon but after seeing yours the additional gas struts would be a nice upgrade from cheap ones I bought)
What is reasoning for wheels extended from ends of cart? I will be butting my cart against wall on backside, cabinet on left side, and door will be on right. protruding wheels would be a trip hazard in my application.
Do the drop down somehow or do you only use lift to stop cart from moving when in use?
Any more info or pics on dust collection piping? I love the valves. (That would be a perfect thing to have on back side of my cart and be able to use miter saw even when against wall rest of the time.)

I have a workbench that came with my new garage that I need to rework and you've given me some great ideas. Those drawers are going to happen for sure.

Maybe I missed it but where did you get the foam?

Here are some new photos. I re-worked the wheels with solid casters the pneumatic ones couldn’t hack it.

Also the turning radius sucked so I moved them inboard.

I also added floor locks to lock it into place during use.

Foam is from Fastcap. They also have a cutting kit with knives and awesome long tip tracing markers.

Painted stem wall with a solid stain from SW. Thinking of using hellfire on the floor.

I'm really liking that!! I've been wondering what to do in my garage and I'm gonna put this in the project box.

Quick Update:

Managed to get the lines painted on the court, stencil kit from Amazon.

150 Tons of Recycled asphalt for the rest of the driveway. Took me a full week with a skid steer to spread it all.





One of these babies will be in the garage in hopefully about 2 years.

wow, nice stuff. That work center is a real behemoth. Rolls around ok though? Do you have any pics showing how the dust collection system is laid out? I'm also a big dewalt fan.

I too am lusting for a Rivian someday (not that I could afford one anytime soon, but). I hope they get production started on schedule. Their HQ is right down the road from where I work. Might have to try to get an engineering job there just for a vehicle discount, lol.

RaceDeck This Weekend, couldn’t be happier.

From the garage as it stood -without any preparatory cleaning- to fully “done” it took 12 hours. That is moving everything which was a big time **** and also doing all of the trim cuts takes a while. Laying the bulk of the flooring is very fast.

Wife actually thinks its cool too which is a huge win.

Santa brought me a CNC router. Finished building it and got it up and running.

I am going to build a cart/cabinet for it that is decked out with sound proofing, bit storage, dust collection, lighting, etc. Looking forward to building the cabinet and using this thing. Right now my garage is in a good place from a dust-free cleanliness perspective so I don’t want to use this a bunch until I get the setup dialed in.

Awesome garage and cars! I too am in Littleton and I’m a mechanical engineer. Do you do residential structural work and are you licensed? I’ll need a structural sign off and review on my garage plans in the future.
