Way cool! I recognize that screen name. I also noticed GLH in the forground of the first pic of DOI.
My screen name is the same on OSO as it is here.
I love this web site as it is the OSO of Garages. LOL:bowdown:

VERY, VERY nice building. I clicked on one of your pics and it took me to the build photos on your Photobucket. Lots of great detail build pictures and I learned a lot of construction techniques. THANKS!!! Also, I see in your first post that that is a 5/12 pitch roof? Do you happen to know what the interior ceiling pitch is. It should show on your truss sheet. Again, nice well thought our building, I am sure you and the family will enjoy it in the years ahead. subscribed.....

Thanks BuickFarmer. Inside pitch is 2/12. 16' walls gives me almost 19' center height. Builder did an great job, just really slow....

I have plenty to do now. My plans are to build a 16' x 32' room in the corner where the porch is. It's plumbed for a full bath with shower. Insulate walls and leaning towards OSB in the shop area.

Curious as to what they used to attach the truss carrier to the poles with? Also what is the spacing on your poles.
Also, I am seeing something (not in this picture but other ones) midway between each pole in between the inside and outside truss carrier. Is that just something to act as a spacer and help join the truss or? Did they use hurricane ties. Appreciate the help.

The headers where nailed in place then through bolted. Post are on 8' centers and there is a short (filler) piece between the posts. Rafters are on 4' centers.
Builder left the posts long and notched them to sister the rafter in place (see picture) and did the same with the filler pieces then cut them off at the same pitch of the roof rafter. Also used hurricane ties.

So wherever a truss met a pole he did that cut as shown in the picture and bolted the truss to it. Dang, I like that. Thanks!!!! Man that Genie lift sure earned it's keep didn't it. Did they use the Genie lift to raise and set the trusses?

Yes on the cut. The trusses are nailed to the posts with hurricane ties to the header. Header is bolted to the posts. Used the lift to place trusses.

This thread has been pretty stagnant for awhile. Buiding is done on the outside, interior room framed with ceiling and lighting done.
Summer fun got in the way, hope to get back on finishing the interior over the winter.
