Sweet. And it looks like he's got a hell of a supply of parts to make them. Thanks for posting that. It's great to see someone like that, who is an icon in the music world, actually doing something and getting dirty. It just sort of makes them a little more special.
I read years back where Alice Cooper is an avid car collector and his prize possession is, or was, a Mach I 428 CobraJet. Never would have thought that a guy that wears snakes, is into the Goth look, and sings about dead babies, would be a huge car collector. Wonders never cease.

So that's why he can't sing any more! Destroyed his vocal cords with welding fumes. I saw him in St. Louis a couple of years ago, and his singing was awful. Maybe had a cold, but if so, he should have canceled.
My review:
DYLAN GOES TO ‘11’
Bob Dylan played at Chaifetz and he was too loud. He was far too loud. He was WAY, WAY too loud. He was unbelievably loud. I mean that literally. If I had been told Bob Dylan would be playing as loud as REO and Journey, I would not have believed it. But, he did. He played overpoweringly loud.
The big offenders were the kick drum, the bass, and one of the tomtoms. The crushing din from these produced wave after wave of booms that chased each other around the arena, butting heads like angry thunderstorms and producing such an unbearable cacophany as to render moot any musical points being made on stage.
If you can imagine the slow, slightly ominous, mysterious “Senor: Tales of Yankee Power” performed by Blue Cheer and Rush – simultaneously – you’ll have some idea just how wildly destructive this mix was. I know, lots of bass and kick are the current fashion, but Dylan’s were cranked up so hard I couldn’t actually HEAR either one!
Maybe cranking these three to eleven was an attempt to cover up Dylan’s voice. The attempt, alas, was in vain. Perhaps tired of being mocked for his vocal style, Dylan abandoned his trademark whine for a variety of gutteral croaks, coughs and barks. Maybe he just had a cold. A really, really, bad cold. The greatest tragedy of the evening was that Dylan is more of a poet than a musician, and the hideous audio plus his ruin of a voice rendered nearly his every word unintelligible. His harmonica, on the other hand, was clearly audible and he played right up to expectations. Oh, well… he’s never been known as an expert harpist.
There were some nice moments, however. In a couple of slow songs, which I didn’t recognize and was unable to understand any of the lyrics of, the bass and drums played much softer-down to the level of the rest of the instruments. The result was actually musical. I still found the overall sound level uncomfortable, but at least it sounded good. But then, it went right back up to the din of rolling thunder. Did I mention Dylan played too damned loud?
I should have stayed home.

I don't waste money on big name acts anymore. If you want a reasonably priced ticket that you can actually afford, the seats are a mile away from the stage.
It's better to invest in a decent set of over the ear headphones (something in the above $50 range -- Sennheiser, Grados, etc.. Avoid the endcaps at K-Mart for your earphones. And a small inline headphone amp (I use a $12 Pyle one -- powered by a single AAA battery). And then listen to the original recordings back when the artists were in their primes. You can hear the bass player pluck each string, the drum sticks hitting the skins, etc.. Probably 99% of the population only listens to muddled out Apple iPod style earbuds which are rubbish.
And no, I am not an audiophile. Those dudes have $10,000 speakers. I just have a $100 or so package of over the ear headphones and a small amp. It's a lot cheaper to get decent sound out of headphones than it is over speakers.
We do go to local concert events (cover bands, mostly) where you can get decent seats for a good price. Live music is better than recorded music any day.

I've owned good over the ear headphones ... mostly Stenheisers and Sonys, and by far the best I've experienced was a set of Stax electrostatics (not mine, and their cost was beyond what I'd consider paying ... plus, in the high humidity environment I lived in, I wasn't keen in having headphones that required high voltage power supplies cabled to the cans), but there are some good ear buds out there as well, but you'll also need to pay big money for them.
I bought a set of Sony MDR-E484 ear buds back in 1989. They were big bucks then, and today that model are "legendary" and go for even bigger bucks on eBay and the secondhand audiophile market. Even with my damaged hearing from periods working on airport runways without ear protection, they stand head and shoulders above any ear bud I've ever experienced. I still use them.
A few years later Sony released the MDR-E888. This model also fetches a serious price second hand.
Until recently, those two models were probably the best Sony has ever offered. Today, the current Sony XBA4iP appears to be heading towards legendary status as well. They retail in the upper-mid $300s (occasionally available on special for around the $180 mark).
The problem with good ear buds (and good ear phones) is that they make bad recordings (and bad MP3 conversions of good recordings) sound even worse.

I'm with ya on that brother. There are so many that will dispute it though, and he is considered one of thee very best. I always thought that no matter the song, they always sounded the same. Personally I'd say he's probably a better welder than he is a singer

I saw Dylan and the Dead in 1987 in Foxboro Stadium. Dylan was horrible. We couldn't figure out what songs he was singing. A few days later, a friend who had been with me played a 1960s parody of Dylan live on stage, and in the parody he was terrible. My friend said, "I guess Dylan being bad on stage is nothing new."

Myself, I grew up listening to Alice Cooper. Some of his songs were sort of out there, but I always liked his music. Then after I found out he was a car collector, I like him all that much more. Now with you posting that he is a good friend of yours, just put's him one notch higher.

Alice told My friend that He likes her because "You spend more on black hair dye, and makeup, than I do". A few years ago, Alice started a Youth Center in Phoenix that gets at-risk kids off the street and helps them learn to play musical instruments, and offers Youth guidance. He walks the walk.
I remember seeing Him on Johnny Carson, years ago. He was laughing and saying " I wouldn't let MY kids run around with Alice, all those snakes, and axes and stuff".

I agree, never cared for him myself. His gates look killer though. That's right up my alley of automotive parts art that I do.I'm with ya on that brother. Gotta admit he does have a good imagination where those parts/items fit in.

My bad Bronson. I read things wrong at first and thought he was your close friend. I do go and listen to the interview that he was giving in the link. Thanks for posting that. It's great to know that someone like him is doing what he is doing to help the youth of today. There just needs to be more like him scattered around to help the youth in all cities.
And if some haven't listened to the link, it's well worth the 7 minutes that it takes to listen to it.
