Saw Ed China on Wheeler Dealers use these once. It was on one of their higher end cars. Ed was pulling out the rear corner at the tail of a quarter panel, seemed to work well for him.

I'm interested. Would like to see one in person. I've heard they are expensive (20k). It seems like a great concept, though sometimes it's just "time to replace" stuff rather than over working it.

Here's a link to more info.

I would interested in the Aluminum version as I have similar system for steel. My steel system puller does not have complexity of the Miracle system, but has more tab attachment styles. Combining both systems would be my best bet as I'd feel certain that the puller is interchangeable for Aluminum, steel and glue on. I'm going to contact a sales agent early next week and hope to set up a demo.

Unless it's rear quarters or a section of the cab that isn't easily detached it is easier to just replace. $100 panel vs $20k equipment + hours of labor.

Yeah... I dont see 20k worth of product

You could but that with scrap in a couple hours and most people have the welder already

theres just something very satisfiying about leave a job restored to all metal vs hacking and mudding
are the pulling "tabs" reusable? if not seems like consumables are pretty expensive
the shrinking head was really neat

I think there's a rather complex assortment of tooling that connects to the resistance welder, along with storage racks, etc. I wonder how many times the tabs can be reused before they're junk?

Yea that price is not what I expected. I know its easier to just replace panels now days but thats not always possible.

I'm going to the Fall Street Machine Nationals this weekend and will take pictures and get more info if they have one being demo there.

But what if replacement panels aren't available, as in antique cars? To make a long story short, a friend of mine has a 20 something Chrysler where only 20 were built. He was missing some major parts, and traveled all the way to PA to buy a pile of parts at an estate auction. He thought the pile would go for around $15k, but ended up being sold around $70k.

Luckily, the guy that bought the pile was from IL, so they swapped parts temporarily to have parts made. A windshield frame and trunk were two things I remember him having made, using the other guys' parts. The other guy had a front fender made using my friends' fender at a model. I'd have liked to watch the guy making the fender...that would be one work of art by an artist.

That is a pretty impressive piece of equipment. I can see where the money is after looking at what it comes with, especially if you upgrade from the basic kit which doesn't look like it comes with much that you will actually need. There is a welder, pullers and two carts of attachments for different repairs, not just what's in the video.

I saw it, but me personally I'll stick with my stud gun. I don't see investing that much into it when like others have said it's far cheaper/easier to just replace the panel. In cases where parts aren't available, I can do the same with my gun, hammer, dollies, and most of all talent!!

Am I missing something? I went to the website and it looked like the standard set was $4600 in the UK so shipping and import tax would be added to that cost.

Interesting idea, but it seems like a lot of damaged sheetmetal is just replaced instead of repaired.
(at least from dealer body shops I have been in)

But that is the point of the system ! From the couple of videos I saw, a high level of skill is requires, but labor time is likely no more, probably less, and parts are obviously less. These are big benefits for the customer, but it is hard to sell "body shop techniques", especially if insurance is will to pay for a panel replacement.

With the modern cars marking and ID'ing every body panel to a specific VIN I would rather have my hood straightened than replaced as far as resale value goes. Also there are many panels that are not being reproduced for some of the older muscle cars.

Looks like they have some listed on Ebay too, or atleast something very similar in that price range.

I'd say for the right person, after a few vehicles it might be worth the initial cost.
