I came across this cool old Boice Crane Friction-Matic Wet Tool Grinder. The PO put a large 10" pulley on it and I'd like to put an original size pulley on it. I can't find any literature that says what size the pulley on the grinder is. Does anyone have one of these and can let me know? Would also like to know the recommended size of the motor pulley. There are some copies of ads for this machine but no owners manual that I can find. Anybody got one? Thanks - Jim

Looks like a cool tool! Added some pics here from ebay before the listing disappears..

Thanks for adding the e-bay pics. Always frustrating to look at an older post with dead links to something you really wanted to see.

Here's my U.S. made Prairie 10" wet grinder. As you can see it has a jackshaft that allows a lower rpm of the grinding wheel.

This really brings the RPM's down for the wheel. If the RPMs are too high water will fly all over the place.

With the Boyce Crain, there must be some sort of internal pulleys or gearing, or? for the motor to drive the wheel. Can you see what actually drives the wheel?
