I like that a lot. Can't beat Fastenal blue :rocker: Plus you buy those fasteners by the box and just store like that in the cabinet. Nice.

Nice looking bin. I have found bins are like tool boxes, you fill them up and need more. I've been able to buy used from time to time but they never match if that's important to you. It is a good feeling when you need a fastener or fitting and you have it in stock and know exactly where it is.

Looks like you got a pretty good deal. I assume the 150 covered the cabinet and hardware.

If those boxes are full, around here $150 wouldn't even buy half those fasteners at Fastenal let alone include a cabinet.:( They have the highest prices of anyone around I have ever seen, its only on rare occasions we will make any purchases. In our local store they carry cheap Chinese made fasteners premium prices. Most other places will sell larger sizes by the "each" at a fraction of the price per unit.

BTW Nice rack Nissan.

THe bolts are from Alex on here. I need to get some to fill in the sizes, those will come from TSC, much better pricing than Fastenal.

I was fortunate as I had a friend who worked at fastenal and I would pay 5 points over cost...

I painted my bin red.

Our fastenal is the same way, shopped there twice, because I was stuck.Stuff is about double the price and lower quality.I can't see them staying in business around here, people are too frugal in this type of ecomomy to waste their money.

Fastenal *****.

With out a doubt their prices are sky high on everything.

Their sales guy came in the shop recently basically on his knees looking for business. I had three quotes on the desk, each less than a few day old for some 1/2" shouldered eye bolts. I even ran xerox copies of the quotes and told him to beat these prices and you can have the business.

Dumb *** came back two days later with his quote and it was still 5% higher than the best quote. Needless to say, Fastenal didn't get the business.

If I hadn't given him the target price, their quote would have been 20% high.

Elroy has no use for Fastenal. Their ONLY saving grace is they have access to the "odd ball stuff"

For example, We had a custom project that called for some Socket Head Cap Screws. These were going to be exposed to the weather so Stainless was called for. When Elroy started to look over the part prints he discovered that the brilliant Engineers spot faced for "low head" cap screws.

Fastenal had them !!! They were like $300 a 50 pc box, but they had them. The drawings got changed to use a standard spot face.

We use Fastenal at work, we had a few others come in before but they could not reliably get what we needed. Fastenal can find about anything you want. Most of the fasteners seem to be made in China and seem to be priced high but they are just down the street from us so it is pretty convenient.

I use Fastenal when I can not find or locate it easy. Fasteal being new and at the bottom of the list for supplies in an industrial area they will bend over back wards to find what you need.
