Hi all, I’m about to purchase some Durham Manufacturing bolt bin set ups. Haven’t decided on the 9” or 12” deep bin styles...I’m working with 54” of height so will have to combine their 42” and they’re smaller 11 1/2 inch. Has anyone have experience in building mismatched designs? Like besides the bolt bins I can have bigger bins or enclosed ones or mismatch them however I want to....I plan to keep 1/4” - 5/8” or 3/4” bolts/nuts/washers. Anyone recommend anything different? Thanks in advance!

They should have holes in them to bolt them together. Mine are probably 10 years old but they have them. I have some with drawers stacked on top of the ones with open bins.

Overall the open bins take up allot of space for what they hold.

I have been slowly abandoning in favor of the stacking dewalt bins. They just suit my small shop and workflow better.

For a long time I wanted a bolt bin setup like I have and after having it it just takes up to much room. You can’t possibly fill the open bins more than 25% full.

Don’t get me wrong if you have the space they function great.

I can’t really say what would work best for you but the bins in my shop are all 12” deep.

Have bought a bunch of these for work and they are great bins. Yes you can combine them easily. Very stackable as the bins have holes predrilled in them. If they dont line up you can always make your own. 9" deep is plenty of room for a single person. Make sure to ask for the metal bases as well to keep the bins off the floor. The bins are the same that Fastenal uses but they paint theirs blue and mark up the price. Only bad about the bins is that they are not perfectly square and the shelves are not all evenly spaced so if small things like that bother you dont buy them.
