Buy ones that are going to be the easiest to get warrantied for you. I don't care what brand they are, they will all eventually start to get worn enough that they wont 'bite'.
My Cornwell set is probably going to go down the road sometime soon here. Not because its a bad product, but because the Cornwell truck used to be there once a week, now its a few times a year it seems like. Pretty hard to get anything warrantied then. And on an item like turbo sockets, that just doesn't work.
If you want to pass it on to your kids, its going to have to be from a company that is going to be around in the future. How many of these lesser known/cheaper companys will still be around? Hard to tell. I dont see Snap On going anywhere anytime soon though....plus I can warranty those easily.
