Bolt removal sockets

What is the best damaged/rounded bolt removal socket set out there? I’ve seen ads for the turbo socket, bolt biter, rocket socket etc but I don’t know what’s the best option. I only want to buy one set and be able to pass it on to my kids lol.

I've used SK, MAC and the harbor freight set. I've had good luck with them all. Irwin makes a set as well. I like the harbor freight ones since I almost always hammer them on.

Ones with a warranty, but you will pay. I like being able to bash them on and not worry about warranty. Could always use cheap ones and buy new when you ruin them too.

I bought the SnapOn branded TurboSockets years ago, they don't get used too often but when you need em, you NEED em. I will second the recommendation on the warranty, I can't think of too many times I used them and they didn't get wallered out. They worked but if I didn't have a truck coming by to replace them I would likely not have been quite as thrilled with them. They do work though, no doubt about it and they have got me out of a tight spot or two.

They have flank-bite box-end wrenches and impact-rated damaged-fastener flank-bite sockets.

Both work. Generally pretty well.

The sockets only failed to remove one lug nut that was so seized that it had to be ground off.

Buy ones that are going to be the easiest to get warrantied for you. I don't care what brand they are, they will all eventually start to get worn enough that they wont 'bite'.

My Cornwell set is probably going to go down the road sometime soon here. Not because its a bad product, but because the Cornwell truck used to be there once a week, now its a few times a year it seems like. Pretty hard to get anything warrantied then. And on an item like turbo sockets, that just doesn't work.

If you want to pass it on to your kids, its going to have to be from a company that is going to be around in the future. How many of these lesser known/cheaper companys will still be around? Hard to tell. I dont see Snap On going anywhere anytime soon though....plus I can warranty those easily.

The Irwin and Craftsman sets are what I use. The Craftsman is still USA made or at least when I bought it from Sears online it was. Great set hasn’t failed me. I actually found another set at the pawn shop that was Craftsman USA so now I have three sets. They are all great.

I saw those wrenches on a South Main Auto video and would have them if I thought they would get used often.

I have an Irwin-Hansen set that's hardly used but when you need them, its a lifesaver.
