I have a standard Wiha set that I don't think I've ever used; I just use dedicated drivers, bit sockets, or a bit ratchet. But the Powerbuilt set looks good if you actually need them.

Dammit, another thing I had never even thought about before today.

And now I need a set to go with my stubby hex keys and my set of stubby Torx sockets.

And what IS it with so many Torx sets missing the goddurn T27, anyway?

:dunno: I think I can get by with a Vim halfcut bit in a bit ratchet. I don't even have regular hex keys or Torx keys in my box/cart :bounce:
What are you peeps using a T27 on?

Pretty common on Stihl equipment. Even their scrench has a T27.
I also used the **** out of that size in tamper torx installing partitions.
Harley Davidson used T27 and T40 IIRC.

I could use a stubby Allen to replace my Mack turn signal stalk easier. Have to remove the wheel to get a regular proper key in there, so I just use vise grips on the head of the screws.

I ordered these from Amazon hoping they work. They also have a torx option.

Torx/star keys are usually just milled or formed on the tips, rather than down the hole shaft like hex keys.

Yep, I'm not sure what my brain was thinking. I read torx but saw the hex in the picture and short circuited I think

One of the weird things about this, is that Bristol, the maker of Bristol spline wrenches snd screwdrivers, does draw form the spline shape all the way down the shaft like hex keys are usually made, and the Bristol Spline wrench was an earlier higher torque design, similar in purpose yo the Torx design.
It makes me wonder if there’s some reason other than simply manufacturing issues why companies don’t manufacture Torx/Star keys this way.
