Bondhus ProHold socket bits

So I bought a couple of these sets. I thought the idea was good in that I can put a wrench or socket if the bit. Whichever suits the moment best. And they have come in handy a time or two.

Then I started looking at the smaller sizes and it occurred to me that I don’t even have wrenches and sockets that small.

1/8?
9/64?

Who keeps wrenches and sockets of those sizes on hand? I know I don’t.

If you were to keep wrenches and sockets on hand just to use with these Bondhus bits, what would you get?

I have the bigger, more standard sizes already. But not the smaller ones.

I’m confused now. Here is shows the stock size, suggesting that this is the size of tool you would need.

I didn't know they sold bits with the prohold plastic nubs made to fit sockets or nut drivers. I probably wouldn't have anything small enough to fit them either.

I've had sets of the Bondhus prohold metric / SAE ball-end hex screwdrivers with the nubs on the tips (set #s 74637 and 74699) where they hold the fastener on. Luv'em.

Upon further inspection, a 3mm socket or wrench is definitely what is needed.

Anyone know of one?

They sell bits with sockets for sure, but I want a bit that I can use with a wrench when needed.

These, I tend to use with an open-ended wrench in tight areas on Japanese motorcycles. To have one on a socket would not be helpful as I already have sockets with bits. I need a loose bit that I can use with a wrench where a socket won't work. This combo has saved my **** a few times.

I have ball end driver shafts all the way down to .050” and 1.27mm that I use with a Snap-on 1/4 hex 3-jaw chuck power adaptor.

Many.

All seem to go no lower than 3.2mm.

You can get a 3mm nut driver (alone or in a set) or nut driver sockets for ~$10 or so and up.

I have the wrench on order. I'll consider adding some nut drivers too. Pretty sure my current nut driver set does not go that low.

I ran into this exact problem last year! Koken 2400m-3 is a 3mm 6pt socket.
I double checked my set, and all of the smaller sizes have "(3mm)" labels. Really odd choice if they switched it up.
Moody sells nut drivers that small. #58-0150 has all of the small SAE sizes listed, or you can save $10 and get the set with one handle and interchangeable drivers.
But there are a lot of other options available. A lot of the Taiwanese Klein X-in-one drivers have those sizes of interchangeable nut drivers as well.

If these are the actual bits you have, then the size labeled on each is the size you need. None of those are 3mm. How did you arrive at that?

I already have snap on sockets with these sizes of bits in them, so I don’t need sockets to drive the Bondhus bits. I already have “screwdrivers” with these ends in them, so a nut driver to drive them isn’t what I need either. I would just use the torx/allen screwdriver.

What I really need is a wrench. A combo wrench and/or 4 way wrench. I need to be able to put a wrench anywhere along the shaft of the bit.

I saw the moody open end wrench system…handle with changeable ends. Too big and bulky.

I saw the Gedore wrench, “Gedore 7 3 combination 3mm spanner,” and went for that.

That’s all I could come up with after an hour or so of time on google in the way of 3mm wrenches.

That is the photo from the eBay listing from where I bought them. I made the wrong assumption thinking that they would be the same.
