My gramps passed away and left me everything. I just realized by looking at my giant old chrome craftsman sander that I made a big mistake. I had this big old cardboard shopvac that was like 3 feet high that worked and was is great shape. I now see form looking in the origainal box of my sander that the sander hooked up to the old craftsman table saw on a special attachment and a hose ran from that sander to the cardboard shop vac for dustless sanding. OF COURSE NOW THAT THE TRASH TOOK THE SHOP VAC I FIGURED OUT IT WAS COMPLETE PERFECT WORKING PACKAGE! As the title Bonehead. I wonder how rare it is to have a complete working set from early 60's. Someone make me feel better...:lol_hitti

Lets just say let the hoarding begin because I will never throw away anything ever again! I might as well start working on building another pole barn right now.

Since you broke up the system you might as well junk the sander, you can't use it without the vacuum, right?:spit:

There are some things out in the garage that haven't been replaced with better tools these days. That old sander and vacuum aren't those things.

Sentential value is all you threw away. I, myself, would next throw away the sander. Those old ******** types ruined more than one good piece of wood. And the sheets were cut too big. You lost a lot of efficiency with those over sized, slow vibrating, short stroke machines.

I have the same sander, and it is a dusty monster no matter what. But, its a belt sander- chasing the dustless gizmo is overrated. Good sander- every year I expect it to die, and every year it doesn't..
