Brand new to the forum as a member, although I've gathered a lot of information over a couple years. Here's my project that I've been working in for over two years. The building sits on a new foundation with rat walls that a friend of mine installed. I then hired an Amish contractor to erect the 11,000 square foot building. I subsequently fired the contractor due to his lack of attention to detail which I brought to his attention every chance I could. (beginning with his crew walking all over the new metal with mud and stones on their boots....that's a whole nother story) Firing him was the best thing I did as I am now finishing it myself, with some help from a friend when he's available. (my friend has excellent construction skills and we work great together!) The good news is that I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Most of the work I am doing now is the finish work. I'll post some various pictures that I've managed to take throughout the process.

..Fab shop with white galvanized ceiling and natural galvonized walls.
I am currently working on this room and have one more wall of metal (ran out of j channel). After that wall is completed just need to trim Windows and door openings, install electrical and lighting. All walls are insulated as well as the 8' ceiling. The floor is heated in this room. There is a door that also opens to thane back of the property from this room. This room was engineered with my buddy with 24' laminated I Joists 12" on center for storage. We built a stairwell on the back wall that takes you to the storage above the Fab Shop. Once you are on top of the fab shop, there is another door that takes you to a 20x 40 cold storage area that is finished with 7/16 OSB and shelving along each long wall. Awesome storage area.

This is one of the 30x40 rooms that is completed. I will run the Boneheads Garage online business for here. Walk ins are welcome! The service door is the main entrance to the building. that entrance has a full covered porch that wraps around the building. I still mended to install the flooring for the porch.

So my goal this week is to get the fab shop finished (once the j channel arrives), finish the bathroom- I have to extend the drain and water to proper locations in the wall, then I can put the metal liner over the studs-the other 3 walls and ceiling is done and the door is installed. Set toilet, install sink, fan/light.

I also need to insulate the back walls of the mechanical room (which is actually a wall inside an unheard part of the building)

Thursday I'm hoping to change gears and install the 2 post lift that should be delivered Wednesday. That should be running by Friday.

I not sure the best way to extend the air line area from my mechanical room where the compressor sits to the lift area. The route I'd like to take puts it about 100' away so I think I should go 1" but not sure if I want to install galvanized, or???

making some progress..
Installing 2 sets of double sliding barn doors in fab shop today, leaving the fab shop complete except for hooking up (5) 8' T8 dual light strips and installing outlets.(110V and 220V)

Finished 2 post lift install yesterday. Bathroom finish is complete, just need lights fan and AC outlet.

Still need to run air compressor line (next week) from compressor room to various locations. Decided on 3/4" black pipe reducing to 1/2" at drop locations.

Over 2 years to get to this point and it's nice to actually see things getting the finished product installed.

Here's a pic of ones of the set of doors leading into the fab shop. I'll post some finished pics of the hanging up tonight.

Very nice Bonehead! Looking forward to seeing more.
What will you be using the shop for? Commercial, or purely recreational?
Keep the pics coming.

Thanks Tarnished...
The pole barn is where I store our work vehicle. It's a 45' Freightliner Columbia and a 43' Lift Gate stacker trailer. My wife and I sell Sick Boy Motorcycle apparel out of the trailer at major motorcycle and Hot Rod events across the country. We have a 1200 sf ft showroom in the pole barn just for our merchandise that we set up for inventory and every so often walk in traffic. (We don't advertise the showroom)

I also have a section if the barn for building/repairing our personal vehicles.
