I picked up this ratchet over the weekend at a flea market, it does still work good but needs a resto. How do I go about taking the head apart to clean it, or is it made to come apart? I think I will give it a good soaking in pb blaster and clean it up with wire brush. I picked this up along with a williams ratchet, sk socket, proto 1428 hammer, and a old true temper hammer, actually found alot of snap on sockets but they were a little over priced for a flea market.

I have one...rivets work themselves loose with time & use. I will agree with sumner52000... soak it for a long while. WD 40 works well for me..PB blaster is another favorite for steel bolts in aluminum under the hood.
Good luck
let us know how you make out.

well after a day soaking in pb blaster and cleaning with scotch brite pad and wire brush I think it came out pretty good, I thought about doing a little more detail to it but over time I am sure it will just get dirty agian, its now ready to be put to use at some point.

I actually used it a little today just testing it out, its alot different feeling than my SO or Mac's, I guess due to the wide teeth pattern but still seems to do a pretty good job. I guess for 2 bucks for the ratchet and double that for the PB plaster it was a all around decent deal.
