I was given a link to here from papawswrench's site but I can't get on to that today. I only joined that place yesterday and thought it was great so I hope I didn't break it!
I live in the south-west of France and got into quality tools when I got fed up going to the local hardware shop and buying new **** for a lot of money, out of neccessity because I needed it for a specific job, when I could get older, quality stuff at local boot sales, (vide greniers), for a fraction of the price at the right stall, and walk away with a thing of engineering beauty that would do the job and last for years.
I have a largish grange (barn), part of which I am planning on converting into my dream workspace..... my wife plans on converting it to her dream home so we will see!
Have wandered around this site today and found a lot of similar interests. There was me thinking I was some weird nuts guy buying up old unwanted bits of metal because I thought they were neat.... but I now see there are other weird nuts guys and gals around doing the same thing!
