Border For Two Tone Walls

Hi,
Can anyone recommend a source for a garage appropriate border to go between the colors of a two tone wall? My shop is dark gray up to 36" above the floor and then white above that. I'm looking for some kind of wallpaper type border to go between them. Like a checkered flag thing, or even just a solid blue or red. Any suggestions of what to use and where to get it would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Jim

With levelling lasers as cheap as they are, I'd definitely go with masking and paint, too. Really good quality decorator's masking tape, that holds a straight line, and a roller.

Even for checkers, I'd still think about masking it, although it'll be a slow job, as paper borders don't last that long in the dining room, never mind the garage.

I'm big on trim and mouldings, ever thought about doing a soild peice of wood going around the room paint it white and block off for your black checker marks? Give it that raised effect. Just a thought. Good luck!

I used chair rail to divide up the colors.

A local sign shop should be able to make a checker flag border on self adhesive vinyl that would work in a garage.

I'd just use a garden tractor tire with a spindle and a couple handles. Roll the tire in some paint, and then roll the pattern on the wall.

People will sure ask how you didn it.

Hi-
Our company specializes in automotive themed wall borders for folks with showrooms, garages, etc. We developed and printed a few checkered wallpaper border patterns specifically for customers at car shows requesting this type of pattern.

Slightly off topic - but does anyone know where you can obtain hi-resolution pics of logo's for template making and painting on garage walls (i.e., "Plymouth" script blown up to about 3 feet tall by whatever width)? Have access to artists who can do this kind of work if I can get something to start with.

Alternately, sign shops stocking ready made banners would be good.

These are EPS, so they can scale to any size you like in Illustrator.

I painted my garage a two tone (black on bottom, grey on top) and I just put a white pin stripe. Looks sharp. It's actually auto pin stripe but it did the trick.

I just did my home office(well it's almost finished) in dark grey(lower) and light grey(upper). To divide the colors my wife found a local wallpaper shop with samples.I picked a border with a shaped edge.It has a 57 Chevy(with pro stock hood scoop),a 49-50 Merc, and a fenderless 33-34 Ford 3 window coupe. The pattern repeats and is in (mostly)red with detailed accents. It's a vinyl wallpaper and washes easily. My wife and i hung it and did so without a fight so it was an easy install. The sample book had about 30-40 auto themed borders and a few beer themed ones and some in HD and Tractors.Name yer poison. If I knew how to post pics I could probably find a clear space to take a pic and post.

Jononon - thanks for the link - exactly what I was looking for. Needed the file to either project on the wall or have a graphics company make it for me.

Thanks all.
