If you tell us you have no projects you will leave me no choice but to call you a liar good sir....:p

Youre more than welcome to stop by and help me with mine if youve run low. At age 29, I believe I have enough to keep me busy at least until I retire in 40 years or so.

If you think you're finished organizing your garage, you didn't do it right. No projects (bored) means you're probably not married and most likely happy. Congratulations on both. Sounds like it's time to install a lift! Supply your location or a pic of your garage and I'm sure the members of GJ will offer countless suggestions to help separate you from your money.

Bored? Enjoy bathroom remodeling? I'll give you directions to my place. I've got two racecar projects ongoing and a house that's 1/2 remodeled (I have a bad habit of tearing into things and then getting bored and moving on). My dining room is completely full of car parts and my wife says she's tired of using the guest bath.

I'll also extend an invitation to you. You're welcome to come and help with some of my projects. They are too numerous to list here.

get into rebuilding vintage briggs and maytag engines, they dont take up a lot of room and are cheap, they will keep you busy and are fun to work on, also the hunt for them will get you out off the garage from time to time to go to swap meets and estate sales and you will end up buying other projects you never thought of, before you know it you will have projects lined up for the next 20 years, i'm like a previous poster, I'm 32 and I have projects lined up that will carry on until i'm 50 and they keep coming faster than I can finish them

I wish I was bored, it would mean that I was actually finishing projects. Seems like as soon as one appera to be finished another one pops up.

Let this thought run through your head for a second . I could ask the wife for something to do . There now didn't that help .

I assumed if he had this mysterious "bored" feeling that automatically meant he was single with no female relatives.

Now go down to the basement, walk back to the right, and bring some of those unfinished projects that are stored there out to the garage and you'll be busy for another 6 months.

And to stick with the Princess Bride references.........inconceivable.

I'm 43 and if I retired today, I'd never finish the projects on my list. Everything is labeled, cleaned, oiled and sharpened? You've inventoried, marked and photographed everything in the shop in case of a loss? Everything is painted? All the routine maintenance has been done on all the machinery and vehicles? All those annoying household projects and meant to do items are done?

What are you? Some kind of Jack Olsen imposter?

Ideas:

Install supplementary lighting.
Paint or repaint the ceiling bright white for lots of reflection.
Insulate the garage doors.
Mount cup hooks to the inside of your cabinet doors in the garage to hold more shallow flat items like bandsaw, table saw, and radial arm saw blades.
Paper towel dispensors.
Pens, pencils, markers.
Magnets. What can you do with magnets?
Speakers for your garage radio
Extending your air compressor drain line to the outside.
More overhead hooks and storage.
Bicycle lift overhead to store non-bicycle things like handtrucks, cargo wagons, etc.
Steel jigs.

And finally, go visit Sears or Harbor Freight and dare yourself not to spend anything.

BORED? For Real? I could cure that in a hurry . . .

When ya get these done I will give you another.

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=147380

I do not think BORED will be in my vocabulary for the next couple dozen years! LOL Not to mention everything else that needs done.

You can use the word bored & I will just stick with OVERWHELMING>

I am pretty sure he is just teasing those of us that do not know that word "BORED"

OK, here ya' go. Assemble a knife from a kit (Koval). Then buy materials and make your own sheath. When you are done with that get the raw materials to shape and heat treat a blade on your own. Make the rest of the stuff you need for your first true homemade blade. Finish it out and make a nicer sheath this time. Don't get in a hurry.

If this isn't clear, research how to do it on the Net. That will use some "bored" time itself. After you have done a few, show them to your friends and family and then explain that you can't produce a custom blade with 80 hours in it for $25. Spend more time telling them that you "do" know that they can buy a knife at Walmart for $**. This should keep you busy for a while.
