Hey everyone. My wife and I just bought a house in august and it has a huge unfinished basement. I really needed a work area for my license plate stuff and Im tired of running from my garage to my basement floor with tools....plates....etc everywhere!! so I decided to turn a corner of our basement into a work area. what started as a workbench snowballed a little but I really like the end result. I just need a few more signs to hang. The route 66 sign is my very first license plate sign I made so I thought it was fitting to hang in this area now. I also built a lower level area for my metal shear to mount. The front posts on the bench actually came from my old neighbors house. They are OLD wood turned posts from his front porch that I salvaged before they got thrown out. I refinished them in gloss grey just for some contrast.....Heres a few pics of before and after....thanks for looking!

Thanks! I get them everywhere...swap meets....ebay....people from work bring them in....you name it...I actually have a harder time getting vintage barn wood for my signs than the plates themselves!!

I noticed that you used faux brick paneling. Did you custom make the "bricks" above the window?:ninja:

Looks like a great workspace.

Thanks!

Yeah...I wondered if anyone would notice. I had a left over sheet so I cut out each brick and put them above the window. I think it turned out neat. I always have wanted a "real" exposed brick shop but Im sure I will never have one so I made due with what I have!
