Glad to help. Would anyone know how this deal compares with something like this for $129? I don't know much about Bosch's lineup.

It all depends on how much you value the L-Boxxes. The drill in that link is identical to the lightning deal combo. I purchased the impact driver separately with the proper L-Boxx insert for $80 from Amazon, and it's sitting in the L-Boxx with my drill.

The PS-31 drill is the same. The impact is very nice. Great for driving tapcons. The difference in the deals is the L-boxes. They don't come cheap. If you don't need the boxes, go for the deal you linked to. You'll like it.

Thanks for the info. Are the boxes special in some way? I understand they lock and stack, but are they extra solid construction or something along those lines? It's likely unfair to compare them with the molded plastic cases you get with typical impact drills and such, but at a glance I'm wondering what the secret sauce is.

I have the same question. If I use use the boxes inside the garage, is it useful?

I find the boxes useful only because I travel to different job sites and have kits geared to the equipment I'm working on that day. I'm not sure what I would use them for otherwise.

They sound like a real space saver for your line of work, well worth the money. I'm just a weekend mechanic around the house so they probably aren't quite for me. Thanks for the information!

The big difference, besides the impact of course, is that with the deal here you get two l-boxxes,
which at least for me was the main reson why I jumped on this.
Even it was pointed out that you can get them cheaper with $25 discount but I will use the drills as x-mas gifts.

Regarding the set you posted, it really comes down to if you need the impact and I do not know what the impact costs as a bare tool.
Because it might make sense to by the 2 l-boxx set and get the bare impact,
assuming they sell it bare.
The l-boxx for the drill, I think, has enough space to also fit the impact in there.
I have the older impact and almost never use it because of the noise.

As I mentioned earlier, here is the bare tool + insert that fits alongside the drill (this uses an identical tray to the drill).

This deal will be back on Amazon in a few hours. They also have some other good stuff coming up.

I think it's a ~okay~ deal if you are investing in the L Box system.
Otherwise, it's just a 12V drill - great for certain applications, limited in others...

Still very tempting but I really do not have any use for drills anymore and I do not want to sit on it and trying to sell them since they are all over the place anyway.

On a side note, when they had the $25 off promo last month I also bought the little Bosch PS60B 12V Max Pocket Reciprocating Saw and I have to say that is a handy little thing.

On a even further side note and If that violates the hot deal posting rules I apologize does anyone know if they sell the insert for the PS60B to fit in the L-boxx seperatly?

Thank you

I talked to a rep at Bosch a couple of weeks ago and asked that same question. To date, they don't offer it as a separate part and don't have plans to do so in the U.S.
