Okay, I got a Bosch 13 piece cobalt drill bit set, and there's no info regarding country of origin. The case is made in the USA by Huot though.

I guess if nobody here knows I'll email Bosch. The last time I emailed them with a question, it took three follow ups and several weeks to get an answer.

I can't believe that it doesn't say county of origin on the package. A lot of the Bosch stuff I have looked at recently is not made in the USA. I hope this isn't one of those items.

Why would bosch be made in the US anyway? It's a German company.

Was that question for me??

They do make some stuff (small stuff) in the USA. Going by that logic, why do American companies make stuff in Taiwan and China? My guess is that it is sourced out and it somehow cheaper to use a company in the USA.

They do make some stuff in the USA, but a lot of the good stuff is made in Switzerland, which is typically way better than east asia.

I just bought some of these from HD. Made in Germany. Blue Cobalt series I think? I broke two. My fault.

My bro-in-law runs a foundry in Switzerland.
When I break a Swiss-made tool I blame it on the quality of the metal.
He tells me to go F myself.

I recently bought the latest li-ion 14.4V drill (made in Switzerland) and got some free bits that say they're made in the US (It's pressed into them). They look ok, but I prefer my wera bits.

Speaking of German-made, I posted a while back on AEG drills. Does anyone know who makes them? I thought they had some relationship to Milwaukee. I just put my 02346 to the test today! Everyone wants one now. Regularly 289. Discounted down to $60 something on Amazon.com a few months ago, now up to $90. I love that drill.

All the recent Bosch stuff I have acquired/seen is from China... hopefully to Bosch's quality standards though....
