Greetings all!

I was looking at multi-tools lately, and after some research went with a renewed Bosch unit model GOP40-30 sold through authorized retailers, mostly cpooutlets.com. I still haven't got the tool yet to check in person, but looking over the order, I noticed that every single store selling renewed version advertises it as 3.0 Amp, while the original model of the tool is marked 4.0 Amp.

Amazon listing with 3.0 Amp in the title: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077NX28KM/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Bosch site listing that model with 4.0 under specs:
https://www.boschtools.com/us/en/boschtools-ocs/corded-oscillating-multi-tools-gop40-30b-144955-p/

Renewed/reconditioned is described as
Factory Reconditioned products have been returned to the manufacturer and are restored to like-new operating condition. They go through a rigorous testing and inspection process and offer a significant savings vs. new.

So why would the motors be downgraded? Is this a mistake in the listings that somehow made it to every site, or are they ripping out 4.0 Amp motors from returned tools and sticking less powerful 3.0 Amp motors in to save some money? Would appreciate some opinions and experiences.

Respectively Bosch web site listings though are not the recons being dumped...so possibly there was a running upgrade and both kit versions offered now have the same motor when being sold as NEW.

Could have been problems with the smaller motor maybe. That be something to inquire directly to Bosch

If you really want a reconditioned tool from Ebay or Amazon with 4.0 motor still seems to me what you have to order a 30C-RT

CPO listing shows out of stock

I thought of that, but I was not able to find any sign of GOP40-30 (C or B) ever being sold as 3.0 Amp other then these recon units. CPO is the seller listed on amazon, so they sell the same thing as on their site. In fact, it looks like just about every recon listing out there is thtough CPO, just on different platforms. They are also sold out everywhere.

I already reached out to Bosch and CPO with the same question and so far not a peep. Guess i'll find out when I receive my GOP40-30B, but I imagine it will have the original factory decal that states 4.0 Amp, unless they go through the trouble of changing/removing decals. Will see.
