For me they are both really nice but I don't use them on a Daily basis, Dewalt probably takes my vote by a little.

I prefer Bosch, as i don't see the benefit of the of Dewalt prices (which always seem to be higher when I'm buying). I also really like the the Bosch 12v drills and drivers. Small and light.

When it comes to power tools what do you prefer?
Bosch or DeWalt?

What are you looking to do? For basic cordless tools like drills, recip saws, impact drivers, etc, either brand will do. I like Dewalt for saws & impact wrench, but all my large rotary hammer drills are Bosch.

I invested in the Dewalt 20v line some years ago as they had more options than Bosch did at the time. In hindsight as a DYI type I do not think the extra selection of tools Dewalt offers matters that much.

However due to arthritis issues with my hands I decided to picked up some of the light weight brushless Bosch 12v tools during the Holiday sales last year. All I can say is they are outstanding! The Bosch 12v brushless drill/driver (PS32/PS22) pair is what gets used 70 percent of the time while the Dewalt 20v's sit on the shelf.

If I where purchasing my 1st cordless tool I might wait for this one to hit the market this summer.

Neither personally as I prefer Milwaukee.

However, of the two, if you want a 12v line then go with Bosch and if you want an 18v line then go with DeWalt.

I'm a construction carpenter and only use Milwaukee, Bosch and Festool. If I had to retool, I would go with Bosch, I think they are close to Festool and half the price. I use to use Dewalt but never had any luck with their batteries, things may have changed.

I have mostly DeWalt and have had nothing but success with them. No issues.

I lean toward dewalt but I actually have a number of brands.
For corded tools I will buy different brands based on what is the Best Buy for price-vs-performance.
For cordless I stick with dewalt because I don't want different batteries, and the dewalt stuff has performed great for me

I have both, both have their purpose.

I have cordless DeWalt 18v (which I'm upgrading to the 20v adapter) and Cordless Bosch Jig Saw.

For corded tools, I have Porter Cable Routers and Belt Sanders, DeWalt Finishing Sanders, various corded drills and saws. DeWalt Scroll Saw, CM Miter Saw.

There is no right answer, just find the tool that does the job for you at a price that you can afford. It's all good

I like Dewalt for some things (corded tools) but when it comes to cordless I like Makita. Bosch is nice in their jack hammers/ rotary hammers but I feel they are lacking development in their cordless stuff. Also I feel Milwaukee has everyone in a marketing **** noose, Techtronic Industries has ruined the brand in my eyes.

solely between the two, negating any other brand or options

circ saw Dewalt > Bosch
cordless tools Bosch > Dewalt (I realize I may be in the minority on this one)
hammer drills, sds, all varieties Bosch > Dewalt
table saws more or less equals
jigsaws slight edge to Bosch
sawzall Dewalt offers more variety and more ways to skin a cat, the 4way is nice.
laser levels & measuring equipment Bosch > Dewalt
most blades Bosch > Dewalt
most drills & driver bits Dewalt > Bosch
miter saw different things make each one better for some or the other better for some
routers Bosch > Dewalt but if you need jobsite tough more than you need comfort & accuracy the Dewalt is tougher.

I went from Dewalt 18v which I loved to Bosch 18v when I got to the point where buying batteries & replacement tools wasn't as cost effective as a new platform. I considered the 20v max but I don't think apples to apples the 20v max are as comfortable, offer durability, vibration reduction or intangibles like they feel less sturdy compared to the Bosch.

Add Milwaukee to the mix and you have a whole different conversation. Add vintage tools (don't even have to be that old of vintage) and the conversation changes again.

Between the 2 Bosch, Dewalt pissed me off when they abandon there 12V line with just a few tools plus I hate a company that changes voltage ever couple of year's so you have to upgrade. I own Milwaukee with no complaints because of the 12V tools I do a lot of overhead work and weight become's a factor
Plus I like the way Bosch feels in hand guy I work with has Bosch tools and he loves them

I'm currently using both but I'm thinking about changing to one brand...
just to make it easier with batteries, storage etc

Both. It depends on the tool. Cordless large? I went with DeWalt brushless, but it was a close thing. Cordless small? I went with Bosch, glad I did, DeWalt's support of their 12v has been sad. For primarily irrational reasons, I'm not a purchaser of Makita or Milwaukee cordless.

I have DeWalt, Bosch and Milwaukee angle grinders, a DeWalt and Bosch jigsaw (prefer the Bosch), Bosch and DeWalt routers, etc...

Other than the advantages of a common battery platform, I go for the tool which is best suited for my needs, thus the variety above. I also have Porter-Cable (circ saw, sander), Milwaukee (Sawzall, corded drill, heat gun, grinder), Makita (compressor), B&D (corded drill), Festool (jigsaw), Metabo (die grinder) and Mirka (sander) in my arsenal.

There aren't very many small power tools on my to-buy list now, but both DeWalt and Bosch have places on it. (So does Makita.)
