I can't comment on the bosch miter saw as I've never owned one... I do own lots of Bosch tools and am very happy with them.
I have had zero issues with Dewalt miter saws . 3 of them have been virtually flawless with extensive use on 2 of them.the 3rd one is a 10" & it doesn't see as much use
I did have to replace the switch on my first one, but that was after several years and 10's of thousands of feet of trim

I own a Bosch non sliding compound miter saw for wood. After I bought it, I noticed the DeWalt miter degree gauge was adjustable, which I thought was a good feature. I don't remember having an issue with the Bosch being non adjustable, though.

Just a thinking point to look at.........

I have both, I don't love the bosch it's not worth the extra $$ unless you have limited space (like on a bench against the wall)

Unless you need a slider, the dewalt 716 is my choice for a 12" saw.

I'll share the lesson I learned about 12" sliding miter saws:

They're gigantic.

I should have kept my handy little 10" chop saw and not worried about the 1% of cuts I had to do with my circular saw.

Im with @jar944 the Bosch is a bit of a oddball for fanboys and limited spaces. There is lots of reviews with complaints about accuracy too

The Dewalt is tried and true, they make damn good miter saws

Just be sure to check your footprint, specifically front to back w a 12" slider. That number can get near 4ft front to back clearance

DWS779WDWX726 is $500 right now. That's the saw and rolling stand. Pretty good deal. You can add the 780 shadow light kit of you needed that feature.

I have the Bosch 10” wall hugger slider from Menards six or seven years ago and an almost new 12” non slider Dewalt from my daughter in law‘s dad a few years ago when he sold his house and moved to an apartment in the city.

Both are good saws. The Bosch is smoother and easier to use, fits in a smaller space, but heavier.

The Dewalt is also a good saw, and easier to lug around, realizing it’s not a slider.

I say pay your money and pick your choice. If mine were both stolen, I would probably pick Bosch as a replacement, unless money was a major factor.

The net gain on length of cut 10 vs 12 isn't much

12" shines on larger sq stock like 4x and 6x

12" has its place but 10" can do 90% the work cheaper, lighter, and smaller footprint

I've had a 10" non-slider DeWalt for 15+ years, with the stand. I love it. All I see are DeWalt miter saws when I see someone having a home renovation done near me. Maybe the Bosch is better, but sometimes it's smart to just go with the masses. It's like the Makita cordless vs DeWalt and Milwaukee comparo.

It's like Makita was 20 years ago. Milwaukee and DeWalt rule Phoenix, AZ. This is a stone hard fact.

This is also what I see in TN; DeWalt rules the construction trades at least 2:1 here. Regardless of which is better, and my observation isn't scientific; but when you rule Home Depot, with the best prices, that's really all that matters- especially if the other product that costs 30% more is 5% better. I know, you can say, "well, the Makita is better, because...." Ok, fine, but no one cares outside of GJ. Because if the DeWalt 90% as good, or maybe 10% better, and is much cheaper, and they have 10X of them on the shelf, that's the winner for 99% of consumers that go to HD.

Again, sometimes it's just best to go along with the masses. I went with DeWalt again for my cordless line that I use the most. I have some Ryobi for stuff I don't use often because the price can't be ignored. And Ego for my lawn tools. I do own some corded Makita, and it's great- but I consider their cordless as an afterthought. And I know, "Makita and Bosch is better because.... " but, I don't care, I'll just join the lemmings paying a lower price for almost as good, or better, for a lower price...

Oh, and the DeWalt batteries are currently nearly being given away :ROFLMAO:

I have both -- a 20-year-old Bosch Sliding Compound (10") and three DeWalt saws (one almost 20 years old (12"), the other two newer compound saws, pull more amps (power) and are dual beveled)--- both brands are super, you can't kill either.

The old Bosch has made thousands and thousands of cuts -- clean precise cuts/alignment, blade changes only, but you'll have to periodically repair the bushings in the Bosch Sliding Compound Blade Guard or it will make it difficult (hangs up momentarily) to depress the saw for cuts -- parts are relatively inexpensive for this repair and available thru Bosch or other vendors.

As a side note -- the Bosch Mobile Stands are absolutely outstanding -- easy to move, easy to set up --- A+

I also have that stand and it is awesome besides that it takes a lot of storage.
