I've got a Bostich BT200 that has been great. Recently I dropped it about 4 feet onto concrete but couldn't see any obvious damage. But now it is driving the brads to the right most of the time. I've tightened all the bolts, then disassembled and reassembled the nose piece and haven't noticed any improvement. Any suggestions?

Right-off hand I'd say drive pin is bent. But so could the nail carriage.

Here's the bad part- it's cheaper just to buy a new one than trying to repair.
I just went through the same thing w a PC crown stapler. The rebuild kit was 60% of retail new- and theres no warranty.
With a new unit you have some warranty.

Well, since I was in the middle of a project, I just bought a new Bostich BT185 to finish. The new one works even better than the BT200 I dropped. Not a single misfire or deflected brad!

I'll probably take the old one to the Bostich service center, but I'm prepared to see it go away if it costs too much to fix. If the cost is reasonable, I'll have it fixed and give it to one of our nephews who are working on their houses.

I'd been planning to give them some of my tools I'm not using to help them with their projects. I would have really appreciated that when I was getting started so hopefully they'll get to use those tools, and maybe pay it forward to someone else some day.

Don't take it to a service center, it'll cost you more than it's worth. Take it apart and see if you can figure out what is wrong with it and order the parts. A driver is only 13 bucks if that's what's wrong. Here is a parts diagram and they also have a video of a driver maintenance tear down, http://www.ereplacementparts.com/bo...ee-brad-nailer-parts-c-29443_29458_29463.html

I did take the nose section off, but can't see anything unusual or obviously bent. I'm wondering if the firing pin might be damaged, but I'm not sure if that could be the issue.

In checking online for any info, I couldn't find any references to this problem.
