I went to Lowes today and noticed they had the new Bostitch 20v nailers on display. They were incredibly similar to my Dewalt nailers so I started comparing the battery compartment to a Dewalt 20v impact driver they had near by.
From the bottom, the battery slots look pretty much identical. The terminals look the same and they have the same markings. I found a loose Dewalt battery and tried to insert it. It went in all but about 1/4" and it stopped.
I compared the Dewalt battery to a Bostitch one in a blister package and it has a step in it that the Dewalt doesn't have.
I really didn't have much time, but my guess is that very minor modifications would allow the Bostitch tool to accept a Dewalt batttery. This is very unlike other SBD tools where the entire battery slots are completely different.
I may revisit this in the future with some calipers and a bit more time to understand the differences more.
