yea..i saw it last week too. Pretty good quality for what it is...but way more pricy than what the Stanley was selling for....dang near by Proto/SK for the prices I saw...The rats were pretty nice though.

i've "acquired" the pass through set 79.99,the mini bit driver set, the metric ratcheting wrenches, and the spline set. The sockets seem just fine, but their ratchets arent very smooth. I will be "acquiring" the 246 piece set soon too probably along with everything else they have just because i can. just some random stuff while I apprentice at a small full service garage to build my collection.

people are going to hate but it still works just fine. I havent used the spline sockets yet or the mini bit driver set , but everything else is holding up great.

The wrenches look like a step above the Stanley and just as nice as the new Dewalt ones but at half the cost of the Dewalts.

For the cost, I'd be willing to pick up an SAE and Metric set of wrenches...but I already have too many!

Talk about 10 lbs of **** in a 5 lb bag. I saw the pass through set a couple of weeks ago and they look almost identical to the set from HF.

Like others have said, it's just Stanley under a different name.

Saw the same thing at Lowe's today...Pry bars right next to each other, one labeled "Stanley" (clearance $0.48) and several labeled "Stanley Bostitch" (full price, $14.98). Identical tools.

They're not identical, although you can swap between sockets and ratchets. However the Bostitch sockets will fall out of the HF ratchets due to differing retention designs. Bostitch pass thrus apparently made by HI-FIVE;the HF by Listol.

i bought the 246 piece mechanics set last week to throw in the farm truck. The 1/2 and 3/8 ratchets didn't work off the bat. Called warranty and they said they'd send out new ones, didn't ask me to mail them in or for proof of purchase.

Dewalt and Bostitch are similar tools. They are Stanley's new upper level mechanics tools, made over seas. The dewalt are slightly better made and made in taiwan. Bostitch are good but not as good as dewalt and made in china. The quality level on the dewalt should be on par with Kobalt and Husky but not as good as Carlyle or Gearwrench which are probably the best made in taiwan tools you can get. Many of the taiwan ratchets, even the higher end ones, come with little or no lube in them. If it is not working right you may want to open it up and check for lube before you warranty it. Stanley warranty support usually just sends you out a new tool without having to send the old one back. I have done that several times with my Stanley Pro mechanics tools. Sockets are especially easy, Stanley has even told me if I lose or just need another size socket I dont have, call them and they will send one out for free. I guess they are not very concerned with people taking advantage of the system!
