Bostitch Wrenches

I was browsing wally world today, and while I don't usually stray into their tool section, I ended up there and started fondling the Bostitch wrench set.

The open end looks like it is a copy of the SO Flank drive. Has anybody tried these out. At around 4.00 per wrench they are a heck of a lot cheaper.

They're made by Stanley. For the life of me I can't see why Stanley has to start naming wrenches Bostitch when that has been the air tool division for years.

This, Bostitch hand tools were created to keep Stanley around in the "mid tier" tool market. They are good tools but really overpriced when you can get similar quality Kolbat/Husky stuff.

They probably wont sell well and will disappear into obscurity in the next 5 years or so. I don't know really anyone who uses these.

They look pretty. That's about all I know about them.

With all the non traditional hand tool companies now offering hand tools it's confusing as hell.

That's kind of like Sears pimpin DeWalt hand tools.

And Lowes pimpin DeWalt air tools.

I think they are using the Bostich name as a uber cheap brand so they don't thrash the decent Stanley name into the ground even more.

That said, I have some 10+ year Stanley tools and they are very premiun, Taiwan. China anything *****.

But, China brands are getting better recently, like last 1 year quality has improved accross the board on many brands. Better quality control and materials? Yes.

As for those wrenches, those are China and look great though, def. new stock product. For the money those wrenches are a steal. The open end line detail/ flank drive is a great bonus.

The Bostich & Dewalt non-ratcheting wrenches are based on the Proto ASD design....not exactly the same, but BASED on them.

Most notably is going to be the COO. Other than that, the tolerances, finish, chrome plating, etc.

Side by side, the MAC or Proto wrenches are going to be better....but for the DIYer/homeowner/new mechanic, the Bostich or Dewalt wrenches are a pretty good option.

All those companies are owned by SBD (Stanley Black & Decker).

Any chance you could do a review of them and compare them to other brands that you think they are similar to?

I may get the SAE set of them then... They seem to be a pretty good mid level wrench, unless there is a better equivalent from HD/Lowes.

Bostich seems to be the higher end of Stanley. Wally world also has cordless Bostich stuff that looks like porter cable (B&D, Porter Cable, Bostich, and Dewalt are all cousins)

These Bostitch and DeWalt tools must be the cat's meow (highly sought after) by all the trim carpenters with OCD who JUST HAVE TO same brand of everything !!!

With an 18 gauge nail gun, stapler and 200 piece mechanics set of Bostitch tools, what more could you want in your garage ????

So NOW I know why Home Depot had that closeout bargain deal on DeWalt toolbox set with the clam-shell top !!

Which big box store is going to get Bostitch toolboxes ??

Aren't dewalt tawain? I was looking at the boschits and double checked, theyre China. No bueno in my box. As if I need more wrenches. Lol

Yes. Dewalt was taiwan when I bought them. They have very meaty boxed ends too. Not good for tight spots but good engagement on the fastener

I assume its some form of differentiation in quality. I have the bostitch t-handle set, it's good; no ball ends but it's good. Wasn't cheap by any means though.

In a pinch I would have zero problems buying from this line.
