I'm putting together a kit for some off roading/light overlanding later this year, and I'm looking to buy a surplus US Jack from Ebay. The problem is, the only available source of pre-made axle tube adapters I can find (Safejack.com) don't seem to fit these US-made jacks, just their Chinese 3-tons.

Does anyone else have a source for adapters that they've used to convert 6 or 8-ton bottles to a U-shaped adapter? I do have friends who weld, not sure if I trust them with my life though

6-8 ton jack? What are you driving? While having every tool option available is great, while away from the garage, I find it better to be more of a minimalist. The weight of our tools really adds up. And if by chance you turn this heavy vehicle over, all of your tools and gear needs to be secured so as not to become missiles.

I use a 2x4 and lift on shock or leaf spring mounts if possible. I've never looked for adapters.

Better off fabricating exactly what you want, to fit your exact jack. Welding should be fairly easy, comfortable work on a welding bench.
