Bottle jack: busted??

I went to get out the jack I carry in my pickup

Only to find this

Why??

My guess is it got moisture inside and froze?

Yep. Probably filled with water and once it got cold enough.....POP!

If that is one of those twist to raise/lower jacks you should be able to grab a replacement and just about any junkyard as they came with tons of different vehicles.

That's the good part...I was jacking up a junker and it had my new jack in it
