Bottle jack restoration (cosmetic)

Bought this the other day - already posted. Anyway, I must have too much time on my hands but I decided to de-rust and paint it. I used naval jelly and a wire wheel and then applied a couple of coats of light blue Rustoleum Hammertone paint.

That turned out nice!:thumbup: I have heard of but never come across Naval Jelly...where can a person get this miracle jelly anyway?:headscrat

Thanks. Had the naval jelly continuously applied for 36 hours. I apply it then scuff with steel wool or scuff pad every few hours then rinse off and reapply. Any hardware store or Lowes, HD.

You did a very nice job on that jack! A few weeks ago someone on CL was selling an old railroad jack,I thought what would I do with that monster as room is becoming a premium in my garage and the thought of tripping on it would not make me happy.:(
