Boue-Point and Snap-On names together.

I am mostly a Craftsman guy. Today at the flea market I pick up this Snap-On, but when I turn it over it has Blue-Point. Don't remember seeing both names on the same tool. Strange for Sanp-On to use both names.

That is funny, my Dad just bought a 4" adj wrench just like that one at the flea market. I will be watching for more post from others. Thanks

I have two of the snap on /bluepoint adjustables. I'm guessing Snap on did not market adjustables under their name and a cheaper version under Blue Point as they do now, they just had the one line. Remember, Snap on didn't used to market wrenches under their name until about the late 40's or early 50's. Perhaps the adjustables were a later transition product. Just a guess.

I have a smaller version of the same adjustable wrench; turns out according to alloy artifacts... the OEM for these was "Diamond" and the only difference was the markings on the tool itself! Check out this page for more info (scroll down to the bottom):

Often can find the same stuff at Sears for 1/4 of the cost.

Iv'e got two of them, a 4" and a 12 ". Both are usa made.

Did not think to check AA. There it is, a dual stamped adjustable, thanks to detective billymade.

Sort of reminds me of the dual stamped Plomb/Proto tools.

Anyone know if the Blue-Point and Snap-On names appeared toghether on any other tools?

Now it is but at one time they were decent tools.They may have been a cheaper line but they were damn good made in the USA tools.Not the same as todays Blue Point.I still buy them when I see them at good prices.Vintage Blue Point tools are definitely on my watch list.

Caper you are right and I wasn't specific enough in my post. But as i understand it, snap on didn't sell wrenches except specialty wrenches with their name on them to around late 40's or so. Prior to that, they were marketed under the Blue Point name and were premium tools. I find Blue Point supreme double open end and blue point double box round handles from the mid 30's to late 40's on a semi regular basis. Bought 1 supreme and 2 round handles today.

You can have the application but remember we only see bikinis about two mths a year.More scarfs and mittens than swimsuits.

I have the same wrench,marked with both brand names.I think I bought it around

Blue point has been around since the twenties or thirties.I'm unsure of the exact date but they've been making tools in America longer than I've been around.
