$100 on Craigslist. I think I did pretty well at that price. Is there supposed to be a cap on the back of it? Also, is it possible to buy the swivel arm?

That's a deal (and a vise) to be proud of for sure!

I replaced the swivel locks with basic nuts on my C1. Less opportunity for snags and jingle jangles while using the vise. Tradeoff is convenience of course.

Woohoo, I'm glad it's a nice one. I didn't look much into what they cost before I bought it, but loved the closed/sealed back end as well as the look of it. Very glad I can still pick up parts for it.

Having trouble nailing down the age- the dynamic jaw shows 101221 on one side and 1W on the other. Anywhere else I should look for markings?

Pull the dynamic jaw out and look on the bottom of the slide.

Clean off the key good. It should be lightly stamped on the key.

Ugh even with a wire brush and brake fluid I can only faintly see a 3. I just want to make sure I order the right swivel clamp and end cap. Is it a C1 450s for sure?

Probably degrease it and mount it up. When I finish some other projects then I'll wire it clean and repaint.

Pretty sure that is C1 . . . . . and a BEAUTY at that !!!

It's different model than 450S which is longer . . . more torpedo/bullet looking.

I've got 450S but prior owner welded the swivel in fixed position.

Thanks! Just placed my order with Kevin. Can't wait to get it mounted to the bench and finally have a proper spot to keep things from moving around on me. When I bought my Snap On box, I had to remove the end of my old bench to make it fit, and that's where my dad's old Craftsman sat. Since then, I've been relegated to mounting the old vise onto a board, then clamp the board onto the edge of the workbench, or just using a pair of vise grips, if the workpiece was small enough. Gonna be a massive upgrade!!
