Just bought a forward 4 post 9,000 lbs 4 post lift have come to the conclusion that I either need to add on or raise the ceiling was wondering if any one has an oppion on setting it on 4 3ftx3ft by 6in slabs as a temporary solution til I can finance and get the time for a major project

Do you have no floor at all? I had my 9000Lb bend pack on 4" concrete. For the ceiling I raised my ceiling joist up about 1/2 way up the roof rafters only in the area the cars would be in. To make up for the support of the raised joists I ran a 14" micro lam beam along the sides of the walls at the roofline nailed to the bottom of the joists stubs that were cut to clear the cars as well as the joist that were still in tact.

The attached picture shows how the micro lam is attached to the ceiling joists. Where the ceiling joists. The ceiling joists that were cut (not shown) had enough left sticking out to nail the micro lam to. I also raised the tracks on my garage door and installed one false panel so that the door would rise over the top of the ceiling joists.

I should of gone into more detail 26x36 pole building 10ft walls with attic trusses .I am debating adding 14 to 24 ft off back with a side entrance or modifying the rafters for clearance was thinking about setting it up outside til I decide or cold weather comes first I have an slow start point when it comes to projects or just more than I can handle at one time wish I had some of the drive of others on this board should be out doing instead of reading what others are up to thanks
