Bought this adjustable wrench from the snap on guy. His truck is a bit dark, I just grabbed it because I needed it along with a few odds and ends I've been wanting for a while. Threw it in the bag and didn't look at it until I got home.

It looks used. The handle has some dirt on it, but these tools sit overhead with bungie cords, so people touch them and get them dirty, I don't really care, it'll be so dirty tomorrow I won't notice.

But the chrome looks weird, the teeth aren't sharp (are they supposed to be?) and the chrome has dark spots. I wish I had noticed it when I was on the truck.

I'll call him tomorrow to come by and discuss it in person. I'd rather know if that's how they come before I make an issue of it..

I also got the PWCS7 crimpers, a tx-72 1/4" ratchet, pocket screwdrivers, and the FADH8A wrench. He unfortunately didn't have the 1/4" drive bit socket (for 1/4" hex bits) so I'm going to order it from the Snap On website tonight, unless anyone knows of an alternative that's just as good or better?

I've noticed on allot of trucks; unless the tools are sealed in plastic, the dealers use the tools to service things or they get handled by customers... very common for things to get "shelf wear" or dirty from admiring techs. Every dealer has their own standards of "new"; certain tools seem to not sell well and stay on trucks for years, maybe even decades! Looks like that might be the case with yours...

I have nothing to say that hasn't already been said.

BUT...

I noticed that that wrench is made in Sweden. Mine's made in Spain, I wonder which one is newer?

Well, see the knicks on the edge of the wrench?

Looks used like the others have said. I would see if it was a returned item or a repossessed tool towards a unpaid account. Bring it up, hopefully customer satisfaction and potential repeat business are keys to his success. Best of luck!

Holy toledo Batman, that FlankDrive Plus with Cushion Grip 8" model is priced at $60.50 . . . . :eyecrazy: :eyecrazy:

Snappy truck salesman better make the pricing right if he sold it USED!! A $60 "Cresent wrench" ought to be pristine.

Yup. Bought it for that price. My bill was $260 iirc. I have a 12" one coming in off ebay as well. I would have picked up a pwz series wrench too, but he didn't have any in stock. From what I understand this "Crescent wrench" is as good as they come. I know Bahco makes them and can get them 1/2 off on ebay, but I needed it for tomorrow.

I wonder how old mine is? Mine is made is USA. I think I got it back in 98 or 99. I can't remember but I am pretty sure

Called the snap on guy and explained the situation. He said he'd gladly take it back and give me credit. That's fine by me, I am usually not picky but when I buy new I want new. My tools get worked hard and put away wet. It's only when I get some down time that I go and wipe them down with acetone and/or brake cleaner, lube them, and sort everything properly!

I had been craving that TX72 for a while and finally got it. Normally I use my fbf and my Dewalt 20v impact for most things, or the 3/8 drive in a 1/4 body snap on for under dash stuff. I see myself using this little ratchet a lot.
