I bought this power hacksaw I found on CL this morning. I'm pretty sure it's a shop made saw but it works great. I saw one on ebay a few days ago and after watching a few videos on You Tube I had to get one.

Ha! I've got an old Heller (or Keller?) power hacksaw in my basement that I couldn't leave for $20.
Of course it needs to be restored, and I've already got a 5x7 horizontal band saw, a nice chop saw and a bigger Kalamazoo horizontal band saw that also needs to be restored, but some day I'll get around to that little power hack saw and make little piles of metal shavings with it.

It uses a 14 x 1 inch blade. The guy I bought it from had the blade on backwards and when he demonstrated it I thought it cut kind of slow. When I switched the blade around it cut a lot faster.

Cool. I'm going to build one of those eventualy, I think the mechanism is cool, I hate chopsaws( noise and mess) and Bandsaws cost too much.
