Hi all, I couldn't help myself once I saw the condition this box was in. I had to have it to bring it back to life. Here are a few pics, the previous owner dropped the lift onto one side of the top, destroying it. One drawer's slides are completely damaged and non functional. The other drawers barely work. It's all dented up and missing bolts, etc... There were a bunch of older (junky?) tools included as well. If anyone knows what the model of this box is, or where I can start in locating the missing hardware and slides I'd appreciate it. I may make a full thread documenting a restoration if I get the motivation. Thanks, and wish me luck!

I have the same cart and i love it. I think the sliding top is one of the best and most useful features (but that's my opinion).

Update:

Checked the cart over and it needs a bunch of stuff to make it functional again. Called MAC and the tech department helped me figure out that it's an MB190UC. Here are the parts required:

RS190SLT - Top leaf slide set ($49)
MB190UCSLT - Top Left leaf assembly (they only have red left, no blue! $117)
RS190UCPBT - Prybar sleeve (need 2, $7 each)
RS190SL - Drawer slides (need 2 sets, $48 each set)
I'm also missing a few of the black M8x22 carriage bolts similar to the pic below, but in black.

As you can expect, I don't think it would be smart to dump $300 into it after shipping and tax, etc... so I'm looking for anyone who has any of this used, or if there's an acceptable substitution. They offered to replace most of it if I had proof that it was purchased new less than a year ago. Heh, they haven't even made this cart for 5+ years. But it was a nice gesture I guess.

If it was mine I would make it work as best I could and then move on. It can still be more usefull than not.

Oh yes, I'm going to make it work. I'm really looking forward to getting it functional again. I'll try checking with Sunex for alternate slides, and I'm pretty sure they are Accuride that are on there currently. My guess is that they are completely custom slides that I will only have 1 option (MAC) to buy them from.

Sunex makes the Tool Cart for Mac Tools, and alot of the other Tool Truck Brands. You can contact Sunex at www.sunextools.com and order the parts you need.

I contacted Sunex and they were able to provide me with an instruction manual PDF. This means they were probably and OEM manufacturer for MAC. They forwarded me on-to MAC for any replacement parts though.

Still looking, I've found an alternative set of slides that will work with a little modification. Will post more when I've tested it out.

I may be wrong but I believe you have a older model the newer ones have tops that lift on both sides and the lock is in the front instead of the right side slide.

I believe the drawers can be removed and made in to bench top box.

Btw I have one and love it just wish it had the flip ups on both sides like the new ones.

I know this is a very old thread but I just bought an old Mac tool cart that looks identical to the one in the pictures. I can't find any numbers on it to find out a model. I need 1 slide for the top. I don't know if it's the same model number as the one in the pictures but it look d just like it. Does any body know how to find it out what model it is, if I can still get the slides and where to get them? Thank you

It's funny, but I logged-in today for the 1st time in a while to see this. Here's my receipt from MAC for the slides. Hopefully this helps! The box turned out great and I ended up trading it for a torque converter replacement job on my Grand Caravan.
