I just wanted to take a moment and say a huge thank you to Jeff (79pacecar) who read this thread and then offered me his lathe tool bits from when he used to be a machinist True to his word the tools bits arrived today, how cool is that?

Some of them are pretty short & a custom grind (for some 1-off job) so not sure how much use you will get out of them, But a least you can get an idea of how to grind up your own

One thing to keep in mind when grinding tooling, at least in my experience, the most critical thing is to have a well balanced, and well dressed wheel. if you don't the tooling tends to bounce & you cant get a smooth grind.
