I just wanted to take a moment and say a huge thank you to Jeff (79pacecar) who read this thread and then offered me his lathe tool bits from when he used to be a machinist True to his word the tools bits arrived today, how cool is that? :beer: :thumbup:

Thanks for the kind words, Just glad I could help out...

Some of them are pretty short & a custom grind (for some 1-off job) so not sure how much use you will get out of them, But a least you can get an idea of how to grind up your own :)

One thing to keep in mind when grinding tooling, at least in my experience, the most critical thing is to have a well balanced, and well dressed wheel. if you don't the tooling tends to bounce & you cant get a smooth grind.
