So i finally got myself a rim clamp tire machine. As the title says it's my first and i have a couple questions i'm hoping someone could answer...
First,it's a fmc/john bean 8600 HP. I see there are 8600 and 8600HP out there,anybody know the "HP" designates?
Second,it has this big clunky arm that has to come over the wheel and tire with a seat belt that comes up and plugs into it before it will air up a tire,it has an electric switch where the seat belt plugs in. It's some sort of safety feature so the wheel & tire does come up when the bead seats. This is the first time i've seen something like this. My question as you've probably guessed is can i take it off? I don't see any others with this... Maybe it's just some over engineered thing just to cover them against law suits?
I'm actually in the process of taking the machine apart to clean paint and re-lubricate everything and i'd like to just leave it off...
Can't remember the third question i had, senile at 43... Anyway here are a couple pics...
