Bought new house, new to site.

Hey guys, I have enjoyed the site for a few months now as I picked out my house. Well I have bought it, and have half of it set up. I bought a small bench top CNC mill and that showed up 4 days after the move. since then, I have only worked on my "mill" corner. its getting there.

Has some room for something cool upstairs. (you cant build this tall anymore in the city that I live in.) So I can do anything I want but burn it down.... that is a bit limiting... It also has a floor drain, but I dont know if it goes to the city plumbing or just to the back yard somewhere.... either way, I dont have to put a urinal in!


I'll have some cool changes coming in the future, but for now I am so excited to have the space to pull off a work shop. I know its not as cool as a Ferrari and epoxy floor, but it can help build prototypes, and thats my favorite way to make money!

Welcome to GJ, surrealism. How long have you had this house??? Man, that workshop looks like you've been here a while, possibly years. Nothing like making yourself at home.

Looks like you will have a project ahead of you to make the shop better. Lighting looks to be limited right now. Painting the walls a lighter color - white, off white, light tan, etc - will really brighten up the room even with the lighting you have now.

For the floor drain, its hard to say where your code would require it to run. You can try removing the cover to see what direction the line runs - toward the street systems or to a drainfield in the yard. Or you can ask other neighbors who have lived there for years.

You have quite a spread of equipment and electronics. What line of work are you in? What do you fabricate? Not being nosy, just curious.

Your workstation looks very similar to my father-in-law's. He's a HAM radio operator and recently retired electrical test engineer. What is your background?

nice looking garage, how high is the ceiling in the upstairs part, beat the code by 2 weeks when I built my shop, 10'6" ceiling but no cool spot up top like you have. i want to build an addition onto mine, its 26 x 30 and I can go 26 x 47, I just hope they alow me to build the same hight for continuity's sake, No pic's of the house?

Hey guys, Its been a while, and much colder since the last time I posted. Im in Michigan and am having to have a reason to turn the heat on in the shop. business has slowed down but I still have enough to justify paying for the propane!
