I got these tools today at a flea market and don't recognize this head/tip screwdriver it's a facom and this ratchet Beta made is Italy. I took ratchet apart to check it out because it wasn't working worth a poo.. And never seen anything like it because theres no spring or ball and you push drive head through ratchet for reverse.. Inside there was no gear just a round cylinder with a notch cut out like pac man and a single paw that just slides back and forth, it really is a **** design IMO.. Also got these snap on sockets plus a Matco and a sunex impact. For 12.

Pics are below pic didn't upload at first I tried to post before someone clicked on me. Questions are on ratchet : Know anything about it and for screwdriver : what drive is this is I know what posi-drive is but this is a little different.

one thing you will learn here is that it is a very image oriented crowd.

i will admit a few images of the ratchet would help me understand your description a bit more.

it sounds like you got a great deal. how many sockets total?

I got 5 snap on 3/4,1/2,5/8,13mm and one more cant recall size but all are 2006 date code i think but the one is 00 i think and all is 6pt but 1 is 12. They had so much tools i mean probably a million or 2 sockets and 10,000 other tools they got when a seller died and want 5k for everything what a steal they got more older craftsman sockets and wrenches than you would see in a life time and all other brands. No way could I have dug through every single socket they had in a day. If I had cash I'd buy all for sure but not till after Christmas but I will go back and buy at least the good stuff. I was so over whelmed with this honey hole. I was in heaven! I won't say where they are lol my secret.. Hehe

Don't worry aboiut spelling or punctuation, most folks here bread fluent typo.

Looks like some nice stuff. I have both the Wright 3400 and 4400 ratchets, I love them.... You can't go wrong there

Screwdriver tip looks like a P1/P3 combo. The small part will fit a P1, and the whole thing fits a P3. Kind of a nifty design, as it doesn't seem to sacrifice a ton of grip in actual use.

I'm probably going to grind off the flat parts into just a posi Phillips I think they work good in worn out Phillip screws. Check out my other threads on my flea market finds. I get German stuff often found a hazet couple days ago a 32 mm. For 2 bucks. I've never found a beta before or heard of it but looked it up for a sec to see it was founded in 1939 and still going. Are they highend? I thought so by quality and COO. Wonder if they work of Ferrari and Lamborghini cars with that brand like go hand and hand? Thanks for comments.

That is definitely posidrive. Used in alot of European electrical screws in contactors and fuses.

Screwdriver is electrical screwdriver pz2+ , very handy for electrical panels and such , don't know if you will ever need it though

it's not a p1 p3 combo , LOL

I wouldn't buy Beta , they are not close to other european tool makers .. nothing to write home about, they do work when new, and that design with the push thru ... meh

i have a screwdriver with the same tip. it works poorly as a general screw driver, although it probably works well for the purpose it was designed for.

i have no idea where that screw driver is right now, since i avoid it.

i dont know if i would grind it down, though. that might adversely effect the strength of the tip. i tend to not want to modify my tools like that. i know people who heat wrenches to get a 45 degree bend in them for some particular application, but i hear them cursing a lot about stuff, so i don't generally follow their examples . . . . .

i

It's not for normal PZ screw heads !

It works very well for what it was made , but I think it's an "Euro" thing .

This is the screw , it won't work for anything else

There are also PH/Slotted screws and screwdrivers

^Yep, it's one of those things. They combined pozi screws with slotted screws, so that "you would be able to use either screwdriver type on them". Convenient, right?
Except neither of those works well on them, so now you've got screwdrivers specifically made to fit these combi-abominations. One more screwdriver you've got to carry around in other words. It's a conspiracy :)

Well good new is it was free lol. I'd like to know more about the ratchet I think the design sux but it works I thought it was stripped when I got it but it was just dry and the teeth we're full of dirt. No spring or nothing pawl just slides back and forth and gets wedged against teeth. It won't wedge very quick you kinda got to work it sometimes but it takes 1/4 turn to lock it into place to turn. Is Beta a premium brand Italy?
