Bought Sunex for the First Time

Any of my wrench turning friends have any experience with Sunex tools? Bought these off the Mac truck yesterday. Never seen the brand before, finding mixed reviews online. Any thoughts?

I pulled an engine from a 510 Massey combine this summer and would’ve killed to have them a couple times. As well some other repairs. So just looking for thoughts.

I have numerous Sunex tools and they have worked well. They have been around as long as me, 43 years. They have always been a quality import tool company. They have great warranty service as well.

Sunex works well, and usually isn't that pretty in the process. Wrenches above all, seem ripe for off center markings. Quality to price ratio is good, and you can still sleep at night if you need to heat one up and bend it for a custom wrench. I will say the wrenches have a rather deep lead in chamfer, which can make use on low profile headed bolts difficult. Again, for the price, grind if required.

I've got some pliers, wrenches, and lots of impact stuff. I also bought a chrome socket set with ratchet for home use, which has worked well for my light use.

Only experience I have are two pairs of their high height jack stands. Very pleased and the great price adds to that.

I just bought a set of mid-length 3/8dr metric impacts from them. Haven’t had a chance to use them yet.

Most of their stuff is pretty good. Only Sunnex stuff I have been disappointed with are their line wrenches.

Ive got a full set of metric wrenches all the way to 32mm no skips. For what I paid they are great! Its the set thst stays on the truck to handle all the unknown that crops up.

Ah yes, I have these in SAE and Metric, as well as the half-moons in both versions. Found them on tooltopia.com a few years back. Handy when needed.

I also have the half moon sets. They're okay, but probably good enough for how rarely they'll get used. Had their angle / four way set.. Was not impressed considering I use those much more. Quickly replaced with Tekton when. Those became available. Lastly I have their e-torx sockets. Very impressed with the quality of those, especially considering the price.

Impact sockets are their bread and butter and are excellent, very high quality and great value for the price just like Grey Pnuematic. Wrenches are usually Chinese but usually decent/serviceable with some flaws but still very usable tools.

I have a some impact sockets and the angle wrenches at work and they do their job just fine. Only ones I've broke are the impact torx sockets that you kind of expect to break eventually. Warranty is quick and painless.

their impact sockets are great...not as impressed with their various wrenches as they are kind of thin/sharp aand hurt your hands.

Besides their impacts (which I have a lot of), I just got their set of crowfoot flarenut "wrench" (they go on a 3/8 like a socket.) Nice chrome, simple flat and stout, but no chamfer to speak of to guide in on the nut. All Taiwan made and surely good metallurgy, and a great value with the set price under $30.

I have passed on their other hand tools, as the ergonomics don't appeal to me.

I have several Sunex tools and they have all treated me fine. Hard to complain about for the money.

Impact sockets are the easiest to make. I rarely hear negative feedback on those. I bet the junk brand like tacklife, etc on Amazon probably work well too.

Wrenches are harder. From the revieii read, sunex is okay. Fine for its price. Nothing to be excited about

I have that same set. Works great for fuel line flare nuts on diesels

Just bought their 20 ton hydraulic press, I liked that it is made in USA, ecept the hyd pump in chineese. Welded frame , all connections are square & it has a quality feel to it, plus the air assist works very smooth.

I first got some miscellaneous impact swivels to repIace broken ones or fill in holes. Since then, I have, the 3/8 low profile nano impacts, they see daily use. They go on sunex's 3/8 stubby impact, which also sees daily use, I've been very impressed with it. The 3/8 ratchet I got with the sockets just to add to the collection really. But I do like it, low profile, smooth action, good balance and ergonomics, if you apply lateral pressure it doesn't bind. I've got a long-handled 3/8 flex Proto that's my main squeeze now. Sunex, good products.

I just bought a Sunex engine hoist to pull the BBC out of my ‘67 Chevelle, which I did on Friday. Worked fine and no complaints.

I've been impressed and happy with everything Sunex that's Taiwan made and black oxide coated, while generally unimpressed with anything Sunex that's chrome plated or isn't Taiwan made.

My experience with Sunex is solely related to their hand tools and impact sockets. I have never used any of their larger tools like engine hoists, shop presses, floor jacks, etc.

My limited experience with Sunex wrenches left me less than impressed. However, I didn't have any problems with the wrench. They just looked and felt cheap. It was about the quality I'd expect from Harbor Freight for about 4x the price I'd have expected to pay. I feel like I've gotten better value for my money from other manufacturers like Gearwrench, SK, older Craftsman, etc.

l have the impact sockets and have been good to me.One is a made in Japan set and been told it was made by Koken,youtube subscriber MrSubaru1387 mentioned it.
