Bought two Urrea Tools today

I ordered some Urrea tools from a tool supply store locally.

First up is the #100 Pocket screwdriver:

The tip of the screwdriver isn't that bad it might not hold up as long as a vintage Plomb/Proto. The width of the tip is 3/16ths of an inch, 2 9/16th inches long overall and the blade is 1 3/8ths inches long. I paid $1.89.

Next is a 9300MS magnetic Screwdriver in the vintage plastic amber handle design.

First off the sad factor the made in Taiwan sticker. I know that is a no go for most, but Proto doesn't offer this handle style in a bit driver currently. They have the #J9300MS which is ugly and has bit storage in the handle. If Proto did make a plastic amber handle bit driver like this, I want it. I paid $7.79.

I am happy with these two, they are more for my enjoyment then the best I good afford or want. The price was right and I got them locally so yippe.

Where did you buy them; locally in your area? I've yet to run across a URREA dealer yet.... much less see their tools used anywhere, either!

I run into used Urrea adjustable wrenches all the time. I think I have one somewhere.

I would buy that yellow handle. Proto should have stayed with the old design. Too damned many people are always looking to fix stuff that is not broken to begin with!

I run into the old Proto yellow handled screwdrivers at the flea market occasionally.... when holding it in my hand, the ergonomics didn't make me want to purchase it, however..

Agreed. The shape is similar to that of Craftsman pro screwdrivers when they were all black.
I loved those things.

No way could I carry that "key screwdriver" on my keychain. Id find myself stabbed in the leg. Sometimes I forget to close my keychain swiss army knife. That always hurts!

Billymade, I got them here in Carlsbad, they have a store in Artesia as well (Southern NM). They "BES sales and Rentals" have a pretty decent store. lots of Urrea tools on display and they are getting more in all the time. They supply tools to the oil fields and mining companies out here.

Jokeman, The Urrea pocket screwdriver is a little bit more capable of poking you in the leg over the original Plomb/Proto models. But I have been carrying an older Proto one in my pocket for years and I do a lot of wiring and computer work and haven't had a problem.
