finally got around to building a stand for my 48" enco box and pan. i figured i'd post it because none of the other 4' finger brake stands i've seen met my specific needs.

requirements i was looking for in a stand:
  • smallest footprint possible, while still maintaining necessary stability
  • 4 swivel casters
  • shelf for finger/tool storage as high as possible, allowing for maximum storage underneath
  • maximize storage potential under the stand (no supports in the way under the stand, yet maintain the ability to have a foot lever)

foot lever in the up position, note how tightly it tucks away.

3/4 x 5/8 heim joints for the foot lever pivot

the only things left are to pull it apart and add a coat of finish, and add some type of spring and or shock/gas shock or locking clamp to the foot lever so it automatically retracts to the up-most position , or manually locks up when not in use. this is where i'm at now, and i haven't decided how i want to support the foot lever in the up position.

simple gas shock:

mini high-force gas spring:

or, some type of manual raise/lower/lock system.

any and all ideas are welcome.

Interesting....I have a Tennsmith that looks very similar. What is the foot lever for? Is that for additional stability?

Foot lever is for when you really get cranking on it, so it doesn't want to tip backward.
