The box cutters are OSHA approved and utility knives are not in the work place
This is where clear definitions are needed.

My company definitely uses knives that many would consider a utility knife and are 100% compliant with OSHA regs as well as our scrict safety protocols.

Here's a picture of a picture, the pickup, had a 67 LTD front clip, fiberglass one-piece front end and a diamond tuck bed. 289ci c4 out of the LTD, and also a 1956 grille. The first picture is before I narrowed up the rear end housing.

BTW that's my daughter who is now 40 years old.

When I got out of High School (1976) I was a night stocker at a grocery store. This is the box knife I used for 5 years while attending college.

The reason it's so shiny is because I was building a 1955 F100 at the time and the knife got into the box of stuff I was taking to the chrome shop.

I was really sad that I couldn't find my knife because you kind of got use to them. When I picked up the box of stuff at the chrome shop I was really happy I got my nice shiny knife back.

Those little skinny box knifes are worthless for cutting open boxes for 8 hours.

I too worked stocking shelves in a grocery store for many years. I used one of the two piece cheap ones and cut hundreds of boxes twice a week with one.

The store bought them by the case and they use cheap single sided razor blades. To this day I like to have them stashed around the house and the shop. Awesome cheap little tool.

Box cutters are great for cutting boxes, Utility knives are also good for that and a plethora of other uses.

The terrorists who hijacked the airliners on 9-11 were armed with Box Cutters.

When I was a stocker at a grocery store, this was the bees knees. Pacific Handy S5 (although I had the S3 at the time). Only proplem is that it takes proprietary blades. The blade guard has a notch to allow you to cut tape without getting gunk on the blade, and it stores blades in the handle.

I just use my Swiss Army Knife, it cuts boxes just fine along with loads of other useful functions. My only problem is they aren't strictly legal in my home country despite many more Knife assaults actually being carried out with Stanley Knives by Football Hooligans (which are legal).

I use carpet cutter knives with the slightly longer razor blade-type straight edge blades. They're sharper than any of the utility knives I've tried and you get four sharp edges/corners out of each blade. Yeah, you gotta be careful with them, there's a reason they're called ****** Marys. Other than an occasional really fine cut that calls for an Exacto knife, carpet cutter knives are all I use.
