Hello all - I have recently come into possession of a treasure trove of tools (entire lifetime’s worth) and will be asking about quite a bit of stuff. My first question is what this little SnapOn box is:
5F272024-4D31-4E0D-9809-096F61E79DC2.jpeg47FB7C70-95CA-4212-B769-C98DE5972B3D.jpeg

Considering the lack of any actual locking provision, and that the drawers are held in place with a pin, I’m guessing it went to a puller set or some other “communal” tools.

Any thoughts?

Does it have handles on the sides? Open up the top and take a pic also. Measurements are helpful as well.

It does have side handles - will get measurements and more pics when I go back outside.

It’s 18” wide, 7” tall and 8” deep.

Drawers are “floating” like parts cabinets. 98549097-D117-4DA6-AB88-4D8B95057F5A.jpeg312BD204-FE04-4370-B875-3E461DAAF506.jpegA64FD785-FA1F-4E8B-81F0-0F47F3C5C22E.jpeg589F64EA-3283-418E-ACD6-4DB656F6CCCF.jpeg

I believe it may be a Canadian Snap on box. Check to see if anything is stamped on the inside "floor" underneath the lid.

Thanks for that - It never even occurred to me to move the rubber mat out of the way and look for a number. That box has me flabbergasted as to why there’s not one, but 3 sets of whitworth wrenches in there (SnapOn, Proto and Craftsman), as well as a set of Bonney Whitworth sockets.

Pulled up the mat and didn’t find any numbers. Sticker clearly says made in USA. I’m stumped on this one.

Also found 2 wrenches marked OBA and 1BA in there…what sizing convention is that?

Check the back and bottom for the stamp. Most likely back but some of the smaller boxes have it on the bottom, usually the tiny ones but can't hurt to check if you don't find it first.

0BA and 1BA are a weird British measure SO used. You can find more info on it by searching on here.

Thanks for the info….there’s no visible stamping anywhere on the outside of the box. I’ll pull the drawers out and look inside next.

Makes sense for weird British to be mixed in with the Whitworth stuff. No telling what other weirdness I have yet to find in this stuff.
